Cloud Operations Engineer (TS/SCI required)
Job Summary
We are seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to support an IC customer/contract in Springfield, VA. As a Cloud Operations Engineer on the Continuous Operations Release Environment (CORE) team, you will be providing high-quality, cost-effective cloud solutions to our clients by maintaining and enhancing our cloud infrastructure through a strong focus on operational efficiency and customer support. This position requires a TS/SCI clearance and eligibility to obtain a CI polygraph.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage and maintain cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Respond to and resolve customer issues, providing top-tier technical support and customer service.
- Collaborate with various engineering teams to support user consumption of applications in the cloud in a sophisticated enterprise environment.
- Engage in application monitoring to assist in identifying and addressing application performance or availability issues.
- Continuously monitor supporting application infrastructure to help identify and report on scalability and performance issues.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for application support procedures.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency with AWS cloud services and infrastructure management.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in providing customer-focused technical support.
- Knowledge of Linux distributions (e.g., RedHat, CentOS).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and continuous integration tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Nexus).
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Desired Skills:
- Experience administering production RedHat OpenShift clusters
- Strong understanding of cloud APIs and interaction with the AWS/CLI
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMWare)
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
- 10+ years IT experience
- TS/SCI + CI polygraph
Desired Certifications:
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
- RedHat Certified OpenShift Administrator
