Systems Engineer (TS/SCI required)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to support an IC customer in Springfield, VA. The Senior Systems Engineer designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems. This includes the coordination of system development to include design, modeling, security, integration, and formal testing.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs systems design, development, and integration in a Windows and Unix environment.
- Performs continual maintenance and provides highly complex solutions for security, backup and redundancy problems.
- Provide engineering support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client server and network devices.
- Provide engineering support for the systems administrator for systems issues that have been escalated and communicate status to agency management
- Isolate, troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems involving the applications, the operating system, the hardware, the communications infrastructure, or any combination therefore
- Responsible for infrastructure including design, installing, configuring, testing and maintaining integrity of operating systems and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance

A deep expertise in one of the following areas and working knowledge of one or more of the other following:

- Red Hat Enterprise Linux, YUM, Satellite, Capsule technologies
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Ceph storage platform
- GitLab
Education/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience.
- Must have Security+ certification or DoD 8570 Level II equivalent within 90 days of hire
- TS/SCI Clearance required and eligibility to obtain CI Poly
